On Friday, Sand Point faced Manokotak in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Sand Point Eagles/Lady Eagles fell just short of the Manokotak Lynx by a score of 56-53. The Eagles/Lady Eagles' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Manokotak got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jethron Nanalook out in front who posted 18 points. Nanalook's evening made it 18 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donovan Gloko, who earned 15 points.

Sand Point's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Manokotak, the win (which was their 17th in a row) raised their record to 17-1.

Coming up, Sand Point will be playing at home against King Cove at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Manokotak does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
