Basketball Game Preview: Arickaree Bison vs. Bethune Bobcats

Arickaree is 3-0 against Bethune since February of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Arickaree Bison will host the Bethune Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Arickaree is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Hi-Plains 67-16 on Friday. With the Bison ahead 41-6 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Arickaree got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jake King out in front who posted 13 points and six rebounds. King has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Zarron Skubal was another key player, going 7 for 12 en route to 14 points and seven boards.

Arickaree was working as a unit and finished the game with 23 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Bethune, as they earned their first road win of the season. They blew past Deer Trail, posting a 48-14 win.

Arickaree's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Bethune, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Arickaree against Bethune in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 67-25 victory. Will Arickaree repeat their success, or does Bethune have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
