Baseball Game Preview: Herculaneum Black Cats vs. Crystal City Hornets

The Herculaneum Black Cats will take on the Crystal City Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Herculaneum will be strutting in after a victory while Crystal City will be coming in after a defeat.

Herculaneum lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Kingston, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's matchup. The Black Cats were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Cougars on Wednesday. The Black Cats' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Crystal City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against West County, falling 14-0.

Herculaneum's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Crystal City, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-8.

Herculaneum skirted past Crystal City 7-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Do the Black Cats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
