Cooper came out on top against Saltillo on Tuesday thanks in part to Jaret Slakey's efforts. Slakey wasn't messing around, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). The pitching appearance was his seventh straight with five or more strikeouts.

Slakey's strong effort led Cooper over Saltillo and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
