Recap: Fort Hancock Mustangs vs. Wink Wildcats

After flying high against the Job Corps Titans last Friday, the Fort Hancock Mustangs came back down to earth. Fort Hancock was the victim of a tough 83-58 defeat at the hands of Wink on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Fort Hancock has suffered against Wink since January 17, 2020.

Fort Hancock's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Emmanuel Herrera, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Juan Hernandez was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wink to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abram Bell, who scored 23 points along with nine rebounds. Bell is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Gallardo, who scored 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Fort Hancock now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Wink, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Anthony the next time they take the court. Fort Hancock will host Anthony at 9:35 p.m. on Friday, while Wink will host them at 9:35 p.m. on Tuesday.
