Poinciana and Gateway are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. The Eagles will host the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Poinciana has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Poinciana came up short against Windermere Prep on Tuesday, falling 12-2. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Poinciana saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidalee Vargas, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Vargas also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gateway). They were the clear victors by a 26-6 margin over Central Florida Christian Academy on Tuesday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Poinciana's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Gateway, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Poinciana took their victory against Gateway in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 19-0 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
