Baseball Game Preview: St. Mary's Prep Eaglets vs. Adams Highlanders

The St. Mary's Prep Eaglets will challenge the Adams Highlanders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (St. Mary's Prep 3.8, Adams 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for St. Mary's Prep's offense. They fell 3-0 to University of Detroit Jesuit on Wednesday. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Eaglets' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Adams had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Black Hawks with a sharp 10-2 victory. The Highlanders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by six runs or more this season.

With the defeat, St. Mary's Prep broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-11. As for Adams, their win bumped their record up to 19-3.

St. Mary's Prep took their victory against Adams when the teams last played back in April of 2018 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Eaglets repeat their success, or do the Highlanders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
