Baseball Recap: Zanesville Takes a Loss

Zanesville lost against Sheridan back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Blue Devils took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Generals. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Canon Mercer was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Noah Darnes was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Zanesville's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Zanesville will square off against John Glenn at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Sheridan, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Maysville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Generals' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
