Softball Recap: Rock Island Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Rock Island owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They came out on top against the Moline Maroons by a score of 4-0. The victory was nothing new for the Rocks as they're now sitting on three straight.

The result came thanks to Maddie Carroll's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ella DeJonghe, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Lincoln, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Rock Island pushed their record up to 13-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Moline, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.
