Basketball Game Preview: Frewsburg Bears vs. Silver Creek Black Knights

Frewsburg is 7-2 against Silver Creek since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Frewsburg Bears will take on the Silver Creek Black Knights at 7:30 p.m. Frewsburg is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.2 points per game this season.

Frewsburg took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 75-42 victory over Cassadaga Valley. The Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Trent Lewis had an outrageously good game as he went 9 for 14 on his way to 23 points in addition to six steals and five assists. Those 23 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Weaver, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Frewsburg smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Silver Creek ended up a good deal behind Portville on Friday and lost 68-53. The Black Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Silver Creek now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Frewsburg, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.

Frewsburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Silver Creek when the teams last played on January 6th, winning 55-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Frewsburg since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
