Softball Recap: Franklinville Takes a Loss

Franklinville had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 4-8 to make it four. They lost 7-1 to the Ellicottville Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Panthers have suffered since April 23, 2024.

As for Ellicottville, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games.

For Ellicottville's part, Katie Lafferty spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up six Ks. Lafferty has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ande Northrup was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and one RBI. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Drew Fieck, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Franklinville nor Ellicottville have any future games scheduled.
