Baseball Game Preview: Vacaville Christian Falcons vs. Highlands Scots

Vacaville Christian has gone a perfect 10-0 against Highlands recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Falcons are taking a road trip to take on the Scots at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Vacaville Christian has eight straight victories, Highlands has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

The scorekeeper got an easy start last Thursday as neither Vacaville Christian nor Rio Vista made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Falcons blew past the Rams 12-4. The result was nothing new for the Falcons, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Dylan Eddings made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zachary Romeo, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Isaac Stanley, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Highlands lost 23-2 to Valley on Monday.

Vacaville Christian pushed their record up to 10-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Highlands, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-12.

Vacaville Christian took their win against Highlands in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-0 score. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Scots turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
