Volleyball Recap: Draughn Find Success + How To Watch

Draughn took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against R-S Central, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Hilltoppers 3-2. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 3-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Draughn wouldn't go down easily and took R-S Central into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-15, 25-18, 27-29, 15-9.

Peyton Brewer was the offensive standout of the game as she had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last four matchups.

They weren't the only good server: Draughn was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces every time they've taken the court this season.

Cam Johnson and Abby Austin certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Johnson had 15 digs and two aces, while Austin had ten digs.

Draughn has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for R-S Central, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Draughn is set to take on their familiar foe Patton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, R-S Central will square off against rival Chase at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
