Basketball Recap: Cisne Runnin' Lions vs. Grayville Bison
Cisne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Grayville Bison 73-43. The Runnin' Lions were probably out for revenge after losing 70-48 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Zach Leavens was his usual excellent self, putting up 25 points for Grayville. The match was Leavens' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Hosman, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards.
Cisne's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Grayville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.
Cisne will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Sandoval at 2:00 p.m. on February 1st. As for Grayville, they and Norris City-Omaha-Enfield will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. Grayville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Norris City-Omaha-Enfield likes a good challenge.
