Volleyball Recap: Deshler Takes a Loss

Deshler had lost five straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 8-15 to make it six. They fell just short of the Silver Lake Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The Dragons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Teagan Webber paced Deshler's offense, picking up 14 kills. Webber got some help from Molley Drohman and her seven assists. Drohman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

As for Silver Lake, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted against Deshler since October 11, 2022.

Sophie Schmidt had a dynamite game, getting 21 digs and three assists. That's the most assists she has posted since back in September.

Coincidentally, Deshler and Silver Lake will both be playing Franklin the next time they take the court. The Mustangs will host the Flyers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Dragons will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
