Baseball Recap: Sam Houston Hurricanes vs. Edison Golden Bears
Sam Houston extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 22 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-16. They came up short against the Edison Golden Bears, falling 11-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 back in March.
As for Edison, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-11-2 record this season. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
For Edison's part, they got a massive performance out of Javier Herrera, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Herrera is becoming a predictor of the Golden Bears' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 3-10-2 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Julius Ramirez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with five stolen bases and two runs.
