Football Recap: Middletown Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Friday just wasn't the day for Middletown's offense. They were beaten by the West Warwick Wizards 47-0 on Friday. The Islanders lost against the Wizards in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 14-13 score last time.

A big part of West Warwick's victory came down to the chemistry between Nathan Corona and his top target Evan Medeiros. Corona threw for 99 yards and one touchdown while Medeiros gained 58 total yards and a touchdown. Corona's passing game has become a key predictor of West Warwick's success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Beck Castaldi was in the mix too, providing the Wizards with one score.

Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for West Warwick, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown will welcome Central Falls at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West Warwick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Kilties will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
