Basketball Game Preview: Hudson Cobras vs. Fivay Falcons

Hudson is 0-10 against Fivay since January of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Hudson Cobras will head out on the road to challenge the Fivay Falcons at 7:30 p.m. Both are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.

Hudson is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Hernando Christian Academy 59-22. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Cobras have posted since December 12, 2024.

Among those leading the charge was Grace Rutherford, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Sydniemarie Johnson, who had ten points.

Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Fivay on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Land O' Lakes out of the water with a 72-39 final score. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 33 points or more this season.

Hudson's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Fivay, with the win, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-11.

Hudson was dealt a bruising 61-20 defeat at the hands of Fivay in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hudson was down 33-10.
