Baseball Game Preview: Archbishop Hoban Knights vs. Louisville Leopards

For the second straight game, Archbishop Hoban will face off against Louisville. The Knights will be playing at home against the Leopards at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Archbishop Hoban 3.6, Louisville 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Archbishop Hoban is returning to their home field after beating Louisville on theirs, despite the fact Louisville has dominated at home this season. The Knights came out on top against the Leopards by a score of 8-4 on Monday.

For Louisville's part, they got a good showing from Blake Johnson, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits Johnson has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Jake Beard was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. Cooper Rice was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.

Archbishop Hoban has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Louisville, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8.
