Preview: Gruver Greyhounds vs. Sunray Bobcats
Gruver is 10-0 against Sunray since February of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Gruver Greyhounds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sunray Bobcats at 6:15 p.m.
After a string of three wins, Gruver's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. Their rough 42-18 defeat to Stratford might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Gruver has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Sunray waltzed into their match on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 43-33 victory over West Texas.
It was another big night for Ariadna De la rosa, who scored 18 points along with eight assists and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Melanie Burrola, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Gruver has fallen quite a ways from their 26-3 record last season and are now at 4-8. As for Sunray, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Gruver against Sunray in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 65-37 win. With Gruver ahead 38-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
