Viera is 9-1 against Merritt Island since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Viera will host Merritt Island at 6:00 p.m. Viera will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
On Friday, Viera needed a bit of extra time to put away Oviedo. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Lions.
Riley Makousky spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Elaina Snyder was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Berry, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Snyder wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Viera kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in seven consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Merritt Island got the win against Lake Weir on Saturday by a conclusive 12-2. The Mustangs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by eight runs or more this season.
Rindi Amos made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Merritt Island got a big performance out of Alyssa Abbott, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Keilen Cecere was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Viera pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Merritt Island, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Viera has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like Merritt Island struggles in that department as they've averaged .449. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Viera was able to grind out a solid win over Merritt Island in their previous meeting on March 12th, winning 7-2. Does Viera have another victory up their sleeve, or will Merritt Island turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
