Baseball Recap: Wasatch Comes Up Short

After flying high against Timpview on Tuesday, Wasatch came back down to earth. The Wasps came up short against the Pleasant Grove Vikings on Thursday, falling 11-4. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Wasps, who until this matchup were averaging 3.8 runs allowed.

Wasatch saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another was Jack Salmon, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

With the loss, Wasatch broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-5. As for Pleasant Grove, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.

Wasatch didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-0 defeat against Spanish Fork on the 14th. As for Pleasant Grove, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Springville on the 14th.
