Basketball Recap: Easton Curtis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead North Medford over South Eugene

It was a good run, but North Medford unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 52-45 to the South Eugene Axe. The Black Tornado were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Axe apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Several Black Tornado players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Easton Curtis, who posted 16 points. Curtis' evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Keenan Stewart was another key player, putting up 13 points.

North Medford's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-6. As for South Eugene, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing South Medford the next time they take the court. North Medford will host South Medford at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday, while South Eugene will host them at 6:45 p.m. on January 24th.
