Soccer Game Preview: Chippewa Valley vs. Grosse Pointe South

The Chippewa Valley Big Reds will head out on the road to face off against the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chippewa Valley's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Chippewa Valley's last match might've seen six goals scored, but the final result was still a bit underwhelming. Neither they nor Lakeview could gain the upper hand on Wednesday so the two teams had to settle for a 3-3 draw.

Meanwhile, Grosse Pointe South came up short against Sterling Heights Stevenson on Wednesday and fell 3-1.

Grosse Pointe South's loss dropped their record down to 4-6-2. Chippewa Valley's draw gives them a new season record of 3-2-4.

Chippewa Valley skirted past Grosse Pointe South 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Big Reds since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
