Basketball Recap: Norwood Comes Up Short

Norwood blew Gainesville out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Gainesville got their revenge. The Pirates fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 65-63. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Pirates came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 56th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 287th).

With the loss, Norwood broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-6. As for Gainesville, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
