Basketball Recap: San Miguel Comes Up Short

San Miguel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They lost 61-39 to the Benson Bobcats. The Vipers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Bobcats from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Dawson Judd was nothing short of spectacular for Benson: he dropped a double-double on 11 points and 13 boards. Judd has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kellen Deskins, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 12 boards.

San Miguel's loss dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Benson, their victory bumped their record up to 9-17.

When San Miguel and Benson next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. San Miguel will take on Bisbee and their three-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Similarly, Benson will try to stop North Valley Christian Academy's ten-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
