Basketball Recap: Pickerington North Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Pickerington North duked it out with Newark on Tuesday. The Pickerington North Panthers were outmatched by the Newark Wildcats and fell 71-38. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Wildcats are ranked 67th).

This is the second loss in a row for Pickerington North and nudges their season record down to 8-13. As for Newark, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Looking ahead, Pickerington North will take on Lancaster in a tournament on Friday. As for Newark, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Reynoldsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Reynoldsburg will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Newark surely won't give up without a fight.
