Volleyball Recap: Salem Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Salem Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Caldwell Academy Eagles, falling 3-0. If the Sabers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Salem Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Caldwell Academy's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-9, 25-12.

Stella Streng was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

Salem Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Caldwell Academy, they pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Salem Academy will square off against Winston Salem Christian at 5:00 p.m. on the 19th. Caldwell Academy has already played their next game (against Calvary Day School), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
