Softball Recap: Alta Comes Up Short

Alta came into this matchup off a tough 11-run loss last Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Highland Rams by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rams apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Bailey Thompson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Allee Curby, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Alta has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season. As for Highland, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Coming up, Alta is taking a road trip to challenge East at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Leopards will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. As for Highland, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 25-14 victory against Provo on the 23rd.
