Football Game Preview: Basalt Longhorns vs. Coal Ridge Titans + How To Watch

Basalt is a perfect 9-0 against Coal Ridge since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Longhorns will challenge the Titans at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Basalt 13.7, Coal Ridge 11) so any points scored will be well earned.

Basalt took a loss when they played away from home back in September, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 14-0 win over Delta.

Will Tarallo had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 150 yards and a pair of TDs. That's the most rushing yards he has posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Coal Ridge entered their tilt with Moffat County on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Bulldogs 49-8. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won five matchups by 36 points or more so far this season.

Basalt better keep an eye on Dylan Miller. He was instrumental in Coal Ridge's win, throwing for 215 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes, while also punching in one score on the ground. Miller has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. A healthy portion of Miller's aerial production (85 yards to be exact) went to Evan Dujka, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

The victory got Basalt back to even at 3-3. As for Coal Ridge, their record is now 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Basalt against Coal Ridge when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-7 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
