Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Brookville

Brookville won the last time they faced Valley View and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Brookville Blue Devils walked away with a 64-52 victory over the Valley View Spartans. The win was all the more spectacular given the Blue Devils' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 540th, while the Spartans are ranked 151st).

Despite the loss, Valley View saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ty Fritz dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 rebounds. Fritz's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Adam Dickson, who posted ten points and six boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Brookville and bumps their season record up to 7-10. As for Valley View, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 10-4.

Brookville will be playing at home against Edgewood at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Valley View, they will head out on the road to take on Waynesville at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Valley View is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 67 points per game this season.
