The Holy Name Green Wave will venture away from home to challenge the Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Holy Name comes in on four and Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin on ten.
Holy Name is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Magnificat on Saturday as they made off with a 16-3 win. The Green Wave might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
Reagan Vavro made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Vavro was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

In other batting news, Holy Name let Aubrey Stephens and Bailey Garlow run wild. Stephens went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base, while Garlow went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Garlow has posted since back in April. Anna Soos was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one run.
Holy Name always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Magnificat only posted an OBP of .318.
Meanwhile, Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin got the win against Padua Franciscan on Saturday by a conclusive 12-3. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Lexi Simon was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four runs and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Sadie Wurm, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Holy Name pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, their record is now 13-5.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Holy Name has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .437. However, it's not like Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin struggles in that department as they've averaged .468. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Holy Name came out on top in a nail-biter against Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin in their previous meeting back in April, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Green Wave since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
