Football Recap: West Nassau Skates Past Dixie County with Ease + How To Watch

West Nassau won the last time they faced Dixie County and things went their way on Friday too. The Warriors breezed past the Bears to the tune of 54-12. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Warriors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 167th, while the Bears are ranked 493rd).

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Smo Green and Avery Griffin. Green rushed for 58 yards and two scores while Griffin gained 91 total yards and a touchdown.

West Nassau was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 266 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 266 rushing yards in four consecutive games.

West Nassau didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Bryceton Hodges, Nate Batrous, and Seth Gentry picked up one apiece. Batrous got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Although Dixie County took the loss, they still got scores from James Harshley and Iyon Teague.

West Nassau's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Dixie County, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, West Nassau will be playing at home against Stanton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Warriors will be up against the Blue Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.9 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Dixie County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
