Basketball Game Preview: Panorama Pythons vs. East Valley Falcons

The Panorama Pythons are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the East Valley Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

While Panorama didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Everything went their way against Fulton on Thursday as Panorama made off with a 66-40 victory. The Pythons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

Eddie Munguia and Raphael Latorre were among the main playmakers for Panorama as the former almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds and the latter posted 17 points in addition to eight assists and four steals. With that strong performance, Munguia is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Sunga, who put up eight points.

Meanwhile, East Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 65-60 to Hollywood. The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Sheiks recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Panorama will need focus on slowing down Jasper Meija, one of several East Valley players who made an impact when they last played. He almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Lukas Carone, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds.

East Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Panorama, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Panorama came up short against East Valley in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, falling 70-65. Can Panorama avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
