Mercer County dropped their record down to 19-5 on Monday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverdale Rams. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Golden Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Riverdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games.

For Riverdale's part, Brie DeBlaey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Peterson, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. She has been hot, having posted three or more RBI the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Breckin DeLaRosa, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Coming up, Riverdale will challenge Hall at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Rams' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Red Devils have been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road. Mercer County will be paying especially close attention to Riverdale's game: after Riverdale faces off against Hall, they'll take on Mercer County again at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
