Smith Valley is a perfect 10-0 against Mineral County since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Bulldogs will challenge the Serpents at 12:00 p.m. Smith Valley is looking for their season's first win.

Smith Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Friday, they were much more limited against Carlin on Friday. They came up short against the Railroaders, falling 16-1.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mineral County). They put the hurt on Virginia City with a sharp 27-4 victory on Saturday. The team's explosion at the plate also rewarded the Serpents with their most commanding win of the season.

Smith Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Mineral County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Smith Valley took their win against Mineral County in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 17-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
