It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but West Carter ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bath County Wildcats, sneaking past 6-4. The game was the first time the Comets have beaten the Wildcats on their field since May 25, 2019.

The victory made it two in a row for West Carter and bumps their season record up to 10-10. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Bath County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 12-12-1 record.

Coming up, West Carter will be playing at home against Menifee County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.96 runs per game on average), something the Comets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bath County, they will venture away from home to challenge Lewis County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
