Walker extends home winning streak to 23

Recap: Walker Wildcats vs. Denham Springs Yellowjackets

The Walker Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Denham Springs on Saturday as Walker made off with a 62-36 victory. The win was nothing new for Walker as they're now sitting on eight straight.

Walker's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Arionna Patterson led the charge by scoring 16 points along with three steals. Patterson also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of La'Shantae Clay, who scored ten points along with six assists and five steals.

When it comes to explaining why Denham Springs lost, one person who can't be blamed is raegan white. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points. White scored a full 41.7% of Denham Springs' points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Smith, who scored six points.

Walker pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their 23rd straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38.52 points. As for Denham Springs, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walker will face off against Parkview Baptist at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Parkview Baptist's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matches. Denham Springs will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Amite at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Amite will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
