Softball Recap: Seven Straight Home Wins for Edna Karr

Edna Karr put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Warren Easton Fighting Eagles a 15-0 shutout. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly 15 runs.

Rayne St.Ann was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single hit any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one triple, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Korin Smith and Raleigh Brock did most of the damage at the plate: Smith scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Brock scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2. The dominant performance gave Brock a new career-high in stolen bases. Johnae Williams was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Edna Karr was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .588. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .500 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Edna Karr's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Warren Easton, they now have a losing record of 0-1-1.
