Basketball Recap: Hopewell-Loudon Gets the Win

Hopewell-Loudon won the last time they faced Gibsonburg and things went their way on Friday too. The Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains came out on top against the Gibsonburg Golden Bears by a score of 50-41. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chieftains.

Despite the loss, Gibsonburg saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Reece Walby went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hunter Wasserman, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.

Hopewell-Loudon's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Gibsonburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Hopewell-Loudon will host Mohawk at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Gibsonburg will take on Edison in a holiday battle at at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
