Baseball Recap: AuSable Valley Patriots vs. Saranac Spartans

AuSable Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 14-2 to the Saranac Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to AuSable Valley of the 19-4 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.

Scott LaMountain was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with a triple, a run, and an RBI.

On Saranac's side, Brady Blair and Brody Macomber made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Blair struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Macomber tossed an inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. At bat, Blair scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Macomber went 4-for-6 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs.

As for Saranac, they are on the road again on Thursday to play Beekmantown at 4:30 p.m. Saranac is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
