Basketball Game Preview: Seymour Wildcats vs. Wilby Wildcats

We've got a battle between Wildcats coming up. Wilby will need to watch out since Seymour has now posted at least 55 points in their last ten games.

Last Thursday, Seymour came up short against Kennedy and fell 66-55.

Despite the defeat, Seymour got top-tier performance from Joey Carrafiello, who almost dropped a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. That was a full 41.8% of Seymour's points, marking the fifth time in a row Carrafiello has posted more than a third of the team's points. Robby Carrafiello was another key player, going 6-for-11 on his way to 15 points and seven assists.

Meanwhile, Wilby didn't have quite enough to beat St. Paul Catholic on Tuesday and fell 66-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (63), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Seymour's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points over those games. As for Wilby, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Seymour was able to grind out a solid victory over Wilby in their previous matchup back in January, winning 67-54. Will Seymour repeat their success, or does Wilby have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
