Arvada West extended their winning streak to 13 on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 20-2-1 in the process. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 6-5 W against the Valor Christian Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since April 1st.

Kolten DeGroot looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Levi Lueck, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Holden Goodrich was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

As for Valor Christian, they now have a losing record of 11-12. They have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

On Valor Christian's side, Max Matteucci made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The Eagles are 2-1 when Matteucci posts three or more RBI, but 9-11 otherwise. Colin Kersten also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
