Basketball Recap: FAU High Owls vs. Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars
The FAU High Owls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 11th straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 94-62 loss at the hands of Somerset Academy - Canyons. FAU High was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-20.
FAU High's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Andrew Chamberlain, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chamberlain has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Austen Smith, who scored 16 points.
FAU High dropped their record down to 1-21 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. FAU High and the Scots will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Saint Andrew's has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 358 points over their last five contests. As for Somerset Academy - Canyons, they will head out on the road to square off against the Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. American Heritage presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cougars in Florida (the Stallions are ranked 130th, while the Cougars are ranked 482nd).
