Football Recap: Irion County Piles Up the Points Against Holy Cross + How To Watch

Irion County barely beat Holy Cross the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hornets blew past the Crusaders, posting a 65-20 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Hornets needed considering they were shut out in their previous match.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Irion County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hagen Turman, who rushed for 140 yards and four scores on only ten carries. Turman didn't just play on offense: he also picked up three sacks and made six total tackles. Kyle Olivan was in the mix as well, providing Irion County with two TDs.

Irion County's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Leading the way was Turman with three sacks.

Irion County's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Holy Cross, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 1-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Irion County will challenge Garden City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Cross, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Highland at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
