The Westfield Blue Devils will face off against the Union Catholic Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westfield is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
The home team had come away the winner the last four times Westfield and New Providence had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 8-2 win on Monday. Considering the Blue Devils have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Anthony Narciso looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

At the plate, Jake Alfano was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrew DiGregorio, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Union Catholic fell victim to Governor Livingston and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Highlanders. The Vikings haven't had much luck with the Highlanders recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Westfield pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Union Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-7.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Union Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
