Softball Recap: Van Alstyne Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Van Alstyne and Canton squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Van Alstyne had to settle for second. They fell 4-1 to the Eagles. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 7-1.

Van Alstyne's defeat dropped their record down to 21-8. As for Canton, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-7-2 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Van Alstyne beat Canton by a score of 7-1 later that day.
