Basketball Recap: Cambridge Comes Up Short

Cambridge lost to First Baptist back in January of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lions had to suffer through a 67-8 loss at the hands of the Saints. The Lions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-3.

First Baptist found their leader in freshman Kylie Jane Jones, who went 8-for-20 on her way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Jacobo-Redding, who shot 44% from the field to rack up 16 points and three steals.

Cambridge's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for First Baptist, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Cambridge is set to challenge their familiar foe Ovilla Christian at 6:00 p.m. on the 20th. Meanwhile, First Baptist will face off against rival Garland Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
