Softball Recap: Del Norte Nighthawks vs. Christian Patriots

Del Norte was the 11-1 winner over Christian when they last played one another back in March of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. Del Norte fell just short of Christian by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Ava Giaime was huge no matter where she played even without the win. On the mound, she tossed 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Lainey LLamas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.
