Basketball Recap: Asharia Carstle's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Southern Guilford over Dudley

Southern Guilford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Dudley Panthers, falling 56-36. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Storm of the 43-28 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.

Several Storm players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Asharia Carstle, who posted six points along with seven boards and seven steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Griffith, who put up nine points and four steals.

Southern Guilford's defeat dropped their record down to 3-13. As for Dudley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-6.

Southern Guilford has already played their next game, a 53-8 win against High Point Central on the 17th. As for Dudley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-32 victory against Eastern Guilford on the 17th.
